ABOUT

Sondra Williamson

A veteran journalist, skilled researcher and gifted writer, Sondra Williamson founded Paradigm/Shift in 1998 after working for decades in and around the Texas Legislature and on the staffs of high-profile public relations, lobbying, and real estate development firms. Immediately prior to establishing Paradigm/Shift, she was a writer and public relations consultant on the staff of Bill Miller, co-founder of the largest, most successful lobby firm in Texas, HillCo Partners.

Sondra has co-written, ghostwritten, edited, and collaborated with the authors of several published books; penned magazine articles featured in widely read industry publications under her own byline and those of C-suite executives; researched complex subject matter, and crafted virtually every type of business and policy manuscript to persuasively convey her clients’ perspectives. With her extensive legislative background, Sondra is adept at the art of communicating effectively in the government and public affairs sector.

In 2019, Sondra collaborated closely with Austin communications guru Jeff Hahn on Breaking Bad News, providing in-depth research, writing, and editing for his book about crisis communications in the food industry. In 2016, she worked with legendary Texas trial lawyer David Perry to develop Things I Want to Tell You, a deeply personal memoir to his grandchildren. In 2014 and 2015, Sondra edited a book about birth injuries for the renowned Baltimore trial attorney, Howard Janet. In 2000, she coauthored Start With A Laugh with the late Liz Carpenter, former press secretary to Lady Bird Johnson.

Attorneys in some of the nation’s leading law firms and have engaged Sondra to interview their clients, develop persuasive discovery materials, pen compelling opening statements and closing arguments for trial, prepare expert testimony, and write blog posts and magazine articles publicizing successful cases. One of Sondra’s key strengths is her ability to present complex issues in a simple, straightforward manner that establishes personal connections with the audience and drives key points home.

I used to think communication was the key until I realized comprehension is. You can communicate all you want with someone, but if they don’t understand you, it’s silent chaos.
